Invitaion cards... so cliche

 

Well 300 invitation cards in one day no fun :{ , but the result is cute :}

 

I guess I'm satisfies with my efforts, about entering this t-shirt design competition. This is becuase 

I have learned that as a graphic designer you need to expose yourself more,  by participated in design competition and other design events. I'm always anxious about peoples feedback about my work 

some criticsm are mean and meant to bring you down. But that's cool the more I encounter failure the more I would learn from it. But make sure I always rise from my down fall.

I had a cling to create a character. The soul purpose of this characters is to make him popular. This is a challenge that I'm placing for myself ( I want to start something that keep me busy and take me places). This inspired by a famous South African cartoonist Zapiro, making South African social comments, particular the politics. Well my approach in this case is that I would like to make social comments that are positive, basically bring awareness in about events that effect us.

I would like to see South Africa or Africa developing  a habit of starting something that is sustainable. Black people ( with respect ) have the mentality of living hand to mouth, they are in a habit of striking 
when they need increase in their salaries or for better working conditions.

So this character that I'm developing, the objective is make inspiring and positive message "to be a positive voice" and look for the positive amongst the negative.

Promoting Myself

I love studying the work of other good graphic designers. They do good work, now
I'm more interested in how they promote themselves. Here is the simple pic for my
email signature.

Did the job, but no pay.

"Where did I go wrong", this is what i ask of myself when looking at this work. Yes the client liked the work, I don't know why they are reluctant to pay for the work.



But also looking at this brings me comfort that I'm good at what I do, I might not be paid for it but it fuels my passion for design. One day though I will get my break.





Illustration is my first passion followed by branding. What I love about them is both the craft and story telling that is involved in both disciplines. I love it, when i bring imagination into a reality!

I work in a DTP Graphic Design company, the atmosphere is great. The challenge being here is to adapt into their working condition. I needed to understand how do they think in terms of approaching the work for the client. My challenge was brush on my layout skills because they are DTP and my strength is in illustration and in branding. However though there arr times when I do well with the accounts. But my boss saw that I kick as when it comes to illustration, thinking they are taken from the net and i'm the only one in the studio who has good drawing skills. The problem is that there are DTP work coming rather than illustration and branding. However though I'm learning a lot as to how to communicate with target audience with design.

Little man

This speaks for kids around the world who are forced to face the harsh reality of what is means
to survive in this cruel world. These illustration represents courageous boys and girls who have
face day to day challenges.
